Happy New Year?!?

Posted on: September 8th, 2016 by Breslau Mennonite Church

Is this greeting a bit early or quite late? It seems like September is a start to a New Year.

I have been appreciating the many facebook first day of school pictures. I admired a picture of my nephew walking hand in hand to school with his young son, who begins JK. My nephew looks fearful while his son looks excited. Come to think of it, I haven’t seen too many first day of school pictures of teachers or school administrators?!

This is a time of transition from the carefree spontaneity of summer to welcome routine. Many people claim to begin or begin again with fitness programs. Amid these hot humid days, some leaves and bushes are beginning to change colour reminding us of the change in seasons.

Each day and each season offers occasion for gratitude and praise to the Creator. While in many faith communities September begins a new year. A time of gathering and welcome of both new and familiar friends. New opportunities for corporate worship, supportive care, learning together, and sharing in service.

Connect or reconnect with God and a community of faith and worship. Check us out, give us more of a visit online or better yet in person.

Happy New Year!
